About Wallflower PR

When I told my family that I was changing my college major for the third time, I vividly remember a family member saying to me, “How are you going to do public relations? You don’t talk to anybody!”

He wasn’t wrong.

I’m a quiet person. Call me shy, reserved, introverted, whatever; I’ve always been a wallflower.

Even now, after more than 15 years of professional experience, I still struggle with building up the courage to call or approach someone I don’t know.

But when I do find the courage, the payoff is huge. I get to meet some amazing people with some of the most inspiring stories. And I get to help tell their stories and share their successes with the world.

It’s a misconception that an introverted or shy person can’t succeed in a career field that is notorious for its extroverted personalities. Success is found in the work we are willing to put into something, not in the labels that we, others, or personality tests use to define who we are.

I hope that the tips and experiences I’ll be sharing here at Wallflower PR can help others who are facing the same types of challenges overcome their own barriers.
